I hear an echo.

Let's get that fixed for you!

An echo can sometimes be caused when the microphone and speaker are too close together on the device the teacher or student is using. To solve this, you can try the following steps:

  • Turn on Forte's Noise Suppression, located in the Settings menu in your lesson. (Note: whoever is hearing the echo should ask the opposite user to turn on their Noise Suppression.)
  • Leave the lesson and restart the call.

  • Use headphones during the lesson to avoid the microphone picking up the sound.

  • Try using an external microphone pointed away from the speakers.

  • If you are using external speakers, move them away from the mic.

If you're still experiencing an echo, your computer may have conflicting audio drivers. To fix this, disable your audio drivers completely in the Device Manager on your computer.
