Forte has partnered with Stripe for student billing and teacher payment, which means you can receive funds quickly and securely.
You are paid for lessons as soon as you finalize (process) the lesson in your Teaching Hub, from the Unprocessed Lessons section at the top.
Teacher payouts occur within two business days of when the lesson was charged.
Tip: To ensure timely and regular payouts, you should make sure you're finalizing lessons right away, ideally as soon as the lessons are completed.
Keep that Unprocessed Lessons list empty at all times to make sure you're being paid regularly!
When are students charged for lessons?
Trial Lessons:
Students pay for Trial Lessons at the time of booking, so fees cannot be modified after the Trial Lesson has been booked.
Standard Lessons:
Students pay for the lesson when the lesson is finalized (processed) by the teacher.
To finalize a lesson
- Log in to your Forte teacher account.
- Navigate to the Unprocessed Lessons section at the top of the Teaching Hub.
- Attendance: Set the Attendance for the lesson. The attendance options are:
- Student attended
- No show
- Canceled (late)
- Canceled
- Teacher not available
- Adjust fee: Adjust the lesson fee, if necessary. The amount you will be paid for teaching the lesson appears in the Base fee column.
- Click "Finalize Lesson"
Important: The base fee you set represents how much you will be paid.
Forte Connect students will pay a higher rate, which includes Forte's fee, as is reflected in the Final fee column.
Note: Fees for a Trial Lesson cannot be adjusted. Students pay for Trial Lessons at the time of booking, so fees cannot be modified after the Trial Lesson has been booked.
Teachers only need to set the Trial Lesson attendance and then finalize.Finalize a Lesson Via a Lesson Bundle
When you've taught a lesson to a Forte Connect student who has purchased pre-paid a lesson bundle, you will elect whether to finalize that lesson via the lesson bundle or via normal lesson payment.
In the Adjust fee column, select "Redeem pre-paid lesson." You'll see the number of lessons left in the pre-purchased bundle.
Your lesson Base fee will auto-populate, as will the lesson Final fee (the amount you'll be paid to teach this lesson), with any lesson bundle discounts applied.
Click Finalize Bill to process the lesson, redeem one lesson from the pre-paid lesson bundle, and initiate the payment to yourself.
Go to the "Purchased lesson bundles" tab of your your Billing History to view the bundled lesson count and the redeemed lesson count.
