Our commitment to customer and child safety
A commitment to customer and child safety is one of the founding principles of Forte.
In the interest of safety, especially for students who are minors, Forte must retain the ability to record lessons. In some cases and some states, this is a legal requirement. You can rest assured that any videos we capture are stored on servers with best-in-class security.
We never share videos outside of Forte without first getting permission from the teacher and/or the student/parent, unless required by law.

How to record a lesson
Using Forte’s recording feature, both teachers and students can choose to record all or parts of the lesson. To start recording, click on the Recording icon.
Both the student and the teacher will receive a notification when recording has been turned on and again when recording has been turned off. You can enable and disable recording as many times as you wish during your session.
At the end of the lesson, both the student and the teacher will receive an email with a link to download your recording.
How do I watch a recorded lesson?
Lesson recordings must be downloaded to be watched.
Teachers: From the Students section of your Teaching Hub, click on the three vertical dots to the left of a student's name, and then click on "Lesson recordings" to access the full list of accessible recordings for lessons with that student.
Students: From your Learning Hub, click on the round avatar at the top right, and then click "Lesson Recordings."
How many recording downloads are included?
- Basic Membership - 3 Download Tokens Per Month
- Teachers with a Basic membership and their student can download up to 3 total lesson recordings per month.
- Pro Membership - 15 Download Tokens Per Month
- Teachers with a Pro membership and their students can download up to 15 total lesson recordings per month.
- Elite Membership - Unlimited Download Tokens
- Teachers with an Elite membership and their students have unlimited lesson downloads.

What constitutes a lesson download?
When either a teacher or a student downloads a lesson recording, a Download Token is deducted.
The recording will remain unlocked and available for both the teacher and the student.
That downloaded lesson may be downloaded and viewed as many times as needed after initial download, without additionally counting toward the allowed download limit.
Download Tokens are refilled when your Forte membership renews each month.
How long are lesson recordings available on the Forte server for download?
Lesson recordings are available for 60 days after the lesson takes places. After 60 days, lesson recordings are deleted and are not able to be recovered.
Tip: If you do not receive your recording via email, please check your junk/spam folder, as some email providers may accidentally mark the email as junk.
Note: Recordings can take between 15-60 minutes to process after the end of the lesson.
